For the first time in the Get in the Ring history, we will be in Ivory Coast this winter and we couldn’t be happier!
The first Get in the Ring event in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, will be held the 15th of March thanks to the African Startups Solutions and Partnerships (ASSP) Association. ASSP is a non-profit organization created by African entrepreneurs for African entrepreneurs, to bring the Ivory Coast tech and innovation ecosystem to the next level.
Ivory Coast has been considered as the rising star of innovation in West Africa, and that’s definitely right! The IT startup ecosystem is just starting to grow in Abidjan, the commercial capital of the Ivory Coast, where new restaurants and construction projects are built and new exhibitions and conferences are held to boost the startup ecosystem in the region.
A growing number of entrepreneurs, startups, investors and government policy makers are thriving innovation, in a country recovering from years of political and economic instability. All the ingredients for a growing startup ecosystem are coming into place, especially now that the government seems determined to revitalize Abidjan and build a new economic future. With 22 million inhabitants, amazing accelerators like Orange Fab Ivory Coast, new co-working spaces like AMN, Jokkolabs, among many others; Ivory Coast is leading the growth of French-speaking West Africa and we’ll be there to witness it!
Get in the Ring Abidjan will be a perfect opportunity for startups to connect with opportunities they need to grow and scale up their businesses. The call for startups is already open and ASSP aims to reach more than 2.000 attendees from entrepreneurs, founders, investors, media, government policy makers from the region.
The winning startups don’t only win a ticket to the Global Final in May 2017, but get to be part of a Global Network of 150+ events in 100 countries.
