Innovate society and technology with the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations

Pilot Contract, Access to Expert Network, Cash to develop product Deadline passed

Together with Startup in Residence program and the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations, Get in the Ring is looking for solutions to different social and technological challenges. We are looking to collaborate with startups to solve problems in domains such as efficient use of buildings, digital testing grounds, citizen participation and more. 

 

Startup in Residence program has been running for several years and this year it is a combined effort from the Municipality of The Hague, the Ministries of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Interior and Kingdom Relations as well as the Province of South-Holland

 

By offering their network and expertise, the Municipality, Province and Ministries are aiming to co-create innovative solutions together with startups to solve social and technological challenges that they are facing. Startups selected for the program have the possibility to develop their solution with civil servants and work towards a pilot worth (up to) 25K.

THE CHALLENGE

Increase efficiency of building use by property sharing

Provide an innovative solution for workspaces which motivates and inspires efficiency, and tracks the effectiveness of these measures. e.g. app, platform, nudging campaign, new model, etc.

Ease entrepreneur and government collaborations

Develop a digital testing ground where market groups and governments can test innovations e.g. apps, data sources, data standards, etc.

Increase insights and control of business data

Develop an innovative solution providing insights and control over data, allowing for easy and safe access from entrepreneurs, governments and other companies.

Teach volunteers customised teaching methods

Provide a solution that teaches volunteers in the digital inclusion how to adapt to the different learning styles of each individual. e,g, app, platform, etc.

Support managers to control absenteeism

Use different methods to help managers decrease absenteeism, prevent burn-out and distribute work more efficiently e.g. apps, online programs, etc.

Improve interaction within a society

Use software solutions to strengthen the interaction between government representatives and residents in decision-making processes. Solutions should allow for digital interaction, appealing to use and provide input and feedback.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

  • 5-month part-time, customized program to develop your MVP / Prototype and work towards a pilot

  • A maximum of €25.000 to build and pilot your solution

  • Support from experts and the Municipality, Province and Ministries' network during the Startup in Residents program

  • Possibility of long-term collaboration with the Municipality, Province and Ministries.

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA

  • Have a working prototype / service

  • Registered at the Kamer van Koophandel

  • No more than 20-25 FTE

      JANUARY 20th, 2020

      APPLICATION DEADINE


      The deadline for applications is January 20th, at midday (UTC+1)
      JANUARY 30TH, 2020

      SELECTION


      On the 30th of January three startups per challenge will be selected that will be able to attend the validation program
      FEBRUARY-MARCH, 2020

      KICK-OFF AND VALIDATION


      The selected startups will be invited for 2 pitch rounds. In the first round they will receive feedback on their pitch and application from representatives. After making adjustments based on the feedback, startups will have a 2nd pitch opportunity.
      APRIL, 2020

      STARTUP IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM


      After validation, one startup per challenge will be selected for the Startup in Residence program in April, 2020. The part-time program is customized to fit each startups needs individually.
      SEPTEMBER, 2020

      DEMO DAY


      Startups will be invited to attend a Demo Day in September, 2020.
