The challenge
Patient-centeredness is one of the core values of Maasstad hospital. Currently there are a lot of different situations where patients or their caregivers spend time in the hospital. They could be admitted or waiting before or in between consultations, treatments or additional investigations. For example during recovery from surgery or in the acute care department. Each of these moments represents an opportunity to empower patients with insights, to prepare them for the care they will receive, to educate them on Maasstad specific topics and services, to improve health, to provide an opportunity for feedback, or simply entertain them so they feel less stressed or bored. This Challenge is focused on the triple E: Experience, Empowerment and Education. This approach is in line with the hospital’s Value Based Healthcare strategy.
