THE CHALLENGE

Sportbedrijf Rotterdam is on its way to change the image of sports accommodations. Whenever you’re perfoming physical exercise, the space you’re in should be an invitation to get residents on the move, to challenge themselves to get the most out of their workout and lift themselves to a higher level. In order to facilitate a stimulating environment, Sportbedrijf Rotterdam wants to redesign traditional sports establishments in a smart manner. Residents of Rotterdam should be able to adjust the accomodation to their sporting needs on that specific moment (for example for a specific sport eg: for Krav maga), experts should be available for coaching techniques and advice, it should be a place where you meet your peers and get everybody to move. The goal is to increase the occupancy rate of the facilities and offer easy to access sportfacilities by the use of smart technology and new designs. This leads to innovative and interactive state of the art sportfacilities for Sportbedrijf Rotterdam and its residents. We are looking for the following solutions:

SMART GYM EQUIPMENT

Athletic equipment with sensoring and measuring technologies to improve the experience of the users. Eg for children using athletic equipment during the PE classes.

AR AND VR APPLICATIONS

To take the work-out of the residents to the next level. Eg to facilitate freerunning or zumba in a new environment.

NEW DESIGNS FOR ATHLETICS AND GYMNASTICS

New ways to facilitate PE classses, eg new designs of gymnastics equipment, or of the entire building.

OTHER ENGAGEMENT TOOLS

Other ways to make the sports accomodations more attractive, engaging, and smart. For example gamification tools, engagement tools and apps, but also cleaning robots.
