Get in the Ring, VenturesPlus and PepsiCo are looking for startups and scaleups that have an innovative way to deliver nutrition or have novel ingredients to implement in new and/or existing products of PepsiCo. The link between health and diet is becoming more and more evident, that is why PepsiCo is looking to support their consumers pursuit of a healthy and balanced life.
PepsiCo began in 1965 with the merger of Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay. Today, it’s a global food and beverage leader with products sold in more than 200 countries and territories around the world. PepsiCo has a complementary food and beverage portfolio that includes 22 brands that each generated more than $1 billion in estimated annual retail sales in 2017 and have over $64 billion in net revenue.
In the future Functional nutrition may play an important role in meeting the rapidly growing consumer desire for healthier, more sustainable and personalized nutrition. PepsiCo wants to serve the well-being of its consumers. The company already has a robust portfolio of nutrition brands and is looking for ways to expand in this area through new ingredients, processes or products.

Human nutrient intake is a complex process and there are several ways to alter and optimize the nutrient absorption and utilization by the human body. PepsiCo R&D has ongoing interest in identifying new ingredients, products, or solutions to deliver nutrients that could be incorporated in PepsiCo’s existing and/or new products in the following areas:
New concepts to improve/optimize nutritional intake
Novel nutrient dense ingredients/products
Novel processes or novel application of traditional processes
Low cost micronutrient applications

The deadline for applications is December 1st.
ANNOUNCEMENT SELECTED STARTUPS
The announcement of selected startups for the teleconferences will be done before December 10th.
Selected startups will be invited for business meetings over teleconference, which will take place on December 13th. The most relevant startup(s) will enter into a pilot proiect afterwards.
Pilot projects will start early 2019.
