Get in the Ring and The Municipality of The Hague are looking for solutions for the city’s urban challenges. The Municipality is looking to collaborate with startups that can solve their problems in the domains of construction, architecture, elderly care, financial assistance and cleaning surface water.

 

Since several years the Municipality of The Hague organizes a Startup in Residence program. By offering their network and expertise, the Municipality is aiming to co-create innovative solutions together with startups to resolve their challenges. If a fit is identified there will be a possibility to pilot the solutions and realize long-term collaboration for which the Municipality has reserved a 210K budget.

THE CHALLENGES

Expand the social network of elderly

Enrich their life with (digital) tools that do not require any skills

Develop tools for data transfers

Use AI to convert PDF drawings and building plans into geodatabases

3D scans in construction

Develop an user-friendly and accurate solution to visualize reconstructions

Optimize water conditions

Limit the growth of duckweed or find environment-friendly solutions to remove it

Social responsibility for MID adolescents

Apply technical solutions to support the financial situation of vulnerable citizens

Resolve the housing shortage

Find a solution together with homeless citizens to fulfill their basic needs

Develop a smart administration technology

Simplify communication of the city’s maintenance staff and make complex tasks easy

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

  • €5000 to develop your MVP / Prototype

  • Possibility of a minimum €20.000 to build and pilot your solution upon successful completion of the program

  • Support from experts and the municipality’s network

  • Possibility of long-term collaboration with the municipality for which a 210k budget is reserved

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA

  • Have a working prototype / service

  • Registered at the Kamer van Koophandel

  • No more than 15 FTE

  • Founded no longer than 7 years ago

TIMELINE

MAY 22ND

APPLICATION DEADLINE


The deadline for applications is May 22nd, at midnight (UTC+1).
MAY 22ND - JUNE 13TH

SELECTION


On the 13th of June three startups per challenge will be selected that will be able to attend the validation program
JUNE 20th - JULY 20th

KICK-OFF AND VALIDATION


After validation, one startup per challenge will be selected to take part in the program
SEPTEMBER - MID DECEMBER

STARTUP IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM


The part-time program is customized and officially starts at the beginning of September
JANUARY

STARTUP PILOTS


After a successful pilot design as part of the program, the goal is to start with pilot collaborations within two months
