Streamline internal data processes at Kinderplein

Pilot contract, access to network Deadline passed

The Health Innovation Challenge (HIC) is an initiative of the Rotterdam Municipality to develop Rotterdam as the national hotspot for healthcare innovation. Startups, SMEs and healthcare institutions are challenged to collaboratively find solutions to health challenges. As part of the HIC, MC Kinderplein is working with Get in the Ring and looking for innovative solutions that streamline internal data and questionnaire processes.

Kinderplein is a medical centre that provides healthcare for children and adolescents with learning and behavioral problems and developmental delay in a multidisciplinary team that has an integrated approach towards somatic, psychological and social causes and consequences in the process of diagnostics and therapeutic care. Kinderplein has offices in 3 locations and works with a team of 9 specialists.

To obtain relevant information from the patients and parents, and preferably also from teachers, Kinderplein is now using various (static) questionnaires and interviews, as is done by most institutions. The questionnaires are not user friendly, they are per questionnaire too limited and together inefficient, especially considering the fact that questionnaires overlap. Also, young children would be able to answer part of the questions themselves if these would be put into a different format and tailored to their age. The data that is generated by these questionnaires and patient interviews is stored internally in an electronic patient filing system. The data are available for clinical use, but not directly digitally available for analyses. Hence, epidemiological and clinical research have to be done case by case and mainly manually. This is very time consuming and costly. This immense dataset could be used for good research with clinical benefits for patients and epidemiological insights for research and policy makers.

THE CHALLENGE

Kinderplein is looking for a user friendly (for patients, parents, teachers and doctors) systematic, standardized portal using artificial intelligence generated software that can assist doctors and other healthcare providers/managers/scientists in clinical decision making, follow up as well as epidemiological and clinical analyses with the aim to improve healthcare for this vulnerable group of children and adolescents.

Smart/dynamic questionnaires
