Is this event an in-person or online event?

While originally planned as an in-person event, Get in the Ring the Berlin – Impact has been adapted to a fully online concept in compliance with the advice of the German government in regards to COVID-19.

What's in it for me?

Is there a competition prize?

Yes! The winners of the Get in the Ring battles will be invited to the Impact Finals in the Hague in April 2021 AND have a chance to win a convertable loan up to €500.000!

Will there be an event in my city?

The Impact Competition will take place in The Hague, Berlin, Lisbon, Geneva, Copenhagen and Oslo.

What is the participation criteria for this event?

1. Your company should be younger than 8 years
2. Your solution is scalable and innovative
3. Your solution contributes to a sustainable impact-related challenge in Food, Water and Energy (touching upon one of the specified SDGs)

Dealmaking Days Questions

What happens at the dealmaking day?

Startups will pitch their business idea to potential investors and partners within the sectors of food/agriculture, water and energy.

What will the day look like?

The startups will have 5-6 meetings of 30 mins with industry investors. The event program takes place from 13:00-16:30.

How many/which other startups are participating?

A total of 20 startups will be selected for the dealmaking event. Out of these, 2 startups will be chosen to participate in the livestream battles while all 18 selected startups will compete in a public voting campaign.

As for which startups are participating, follow us on LinkedIn! We will share the list a few days prior to the event.

What is the evaluation criteria used by the jury members?

The startups will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

– Product/service novelty and originality.
– Market need and significance
– Growth and scaling potential
– Strenght of business model /value proposition
– Technological feasibility of solution
– Sustainable impact potential

Will there be investors at the event?

Yes! Different industry partners with investor potential will participate in the event. See the specific investors for the event here. 

Who are the jury members?

The dealmaking partners also act as jury members. They will collectively choose the two most impressive startups to compete in final pitch battles.

If I am a finalist, do I get invited to the Global Meetup 2021?

Yes! Besides participating in the GITR impact competition final the best 2 startups in every city will be invited to participate in the Get in the Ring Global Meetup 2021.

Where do the live battles take place and how can I see them?

The Get in the Ring live battles will be streamed on December 1 at 4 PM CET from our studio. You can catch the broadcast on www.getinthering.co/livestream and on our YouTube page.
