Sudacraft and Smart Delivery will represent Sudan in the Regional Final in Morocco

On the 17th of November the first edition of Get in the Ring Sudan was held, hosted by Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community Sudan. The theme of the event focused on going back to the roots in cultures of Sudan, which was even reflected with a special African boxing ring. From the numerous Sudanese startup which applied, 24 were selected to compete during the day with the 8 most promising startups battling each other for a chance to become winner of Get in the Ring Sudan.

The jury of champions consisted of leaders from the Sudanese community including: Omer Omarabi (General Manager Electronic Banking Services Sudan), Elwaleed Bashir (CEO of Nile Center for Research & Development), Majdi Taha (Chief Strategy Officer Zain Sudan), Khalid Amin (Director at CTC Group) and Charles Blyth (Head of Business Services Dal Group). These champions had the tough job to select the light- and middleweight winner in a five round, head-to-head battle where startups presented their proposition to the audience and champions.

Sudacraft the lightweight winner, was selected by the champions because of their unique platform that connects talented craftswomens to people who are interested in purchasing these cultural items and handcrafts. After the pitches of the lightweight class, the crowd was very excited to see the battle for the middleweight class, where Smart Delivery prevailed as the winner. Smart Delivery proves a free delivery service of fresh vegetables, fruits and meat in high quality and low cost methods by eliminating all intermediates and buying directly from farmers. Along with representing Sudan in the Regional Final of Get in the Ring in Morocco, Sudacraft and Smart also received a small-scale banking funding program.
