This February the most promising startups from the Middle East will battle in the Ring for a spot in the International Final in Medellín, Colombia.
At Get in the Ring startups battle in a boxing like ring by pitching against each other in 5 rounds. A Champion Jury of top investors and seasoned entrepreneurs will decide the winners. Startups battle in 3 different weightclasses, based on the startups’ valuation.
One of the lightweight participants, Fadi Almaghrabi, founder of Vanoman, is working hard to expand outside Saudi Arabia with his startup. “We need the international exposure of Get in the Ring to help us find local partners in the region” He adds to this “We are looking to win the title. We are working hard to close many deals, we will have some surprises to announce.”
Besides Vanoman, startups from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Palestine and Egypt will participate.
Tarek Fahim, partner at Endure capital, and Yousef Hammad, Venture Capitalist at Beco Capital will be part of the Champion Jury on stage. Together with two more Champion Jury Members, who will be announced later, they will decide the winners.
Another startup founder preparing for battle is Hani Abughazaleh, of online coaching and counseling platform Fadfid Inc. The Palestinian winner is ready to win the Middle Eastern Final: “Fadfid will win because we will demonstrate that we play an important role in having a positive impact on society. We need publicity and credibility, and we believe participating and winning in Get in the Ring will help us in achieving that.”
During the Regional Final workshops, networking and coaching from investors and entrepreneurs will prepare the selected startups for their battle on stage. The Regional Final will take place on the 15th of February in the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh, the show starts at 7pm. Tickets are available at www.gitr.co/middleeast
