Central and Eastern European startups have a great opportunity to pitch in the ring in Budapest. Thanks to our Hungarian organizing partner Enterprise Hungary, startups will get a chance to battle for exposure, a €200K investment offer and a ticket to the global final of the competition!
What does the startup ecosystem in Hungary look like? Well probably everyone has heard of the success stories of Ustream and LogMeIn and watched or even made a presentation with Prezi. With numerous new entrepreneurs stepping up every year, Hungary is a definite go-to for international investors. As the startup community is extremely open and welcoming, Get in the Ring has been honored to be a part of it for the last 3 years.
This time the best startups in the region will have a chance to participate in a global competition. First, 8 Central and Eastern European startups will pitch their ideas in front of an international jury in Budapest on Nov 24. The winners of the event will proceed to the global final in March 2017. The stakes this time are even higher: Enterprise Hungary will offer the winners an investment up to €200K!
What is the impact of Get in the Ring in Hungary? Bence Katona, Project Organizer of Get in the Ring Budapest says
“Get in the Ring is more than just a startup competition. It’s a show, it’s networking, and the best opportunity for our startups to show what they’ve got.”
In 2015 the Hungarian event had 50 participating startups and 200 visitors, this time the bar is set even higher. The organizers expect at least 100 startups and 500 visitors. Explosive growth right? Well according to Bence Katona, a lot of visitors and startups are calling Get in the Ring ‘the best startup competition they’ve ever been part of’. Like last year, lots of ecosystem leaders will attend the event, such as Startup Wiseguys, and EH Invest. A little bird even told us that TechCrunch’s John Biggs is coming!
