After a successful introduction of Get in the Ring to India in 2015 we are now happy to announce that we have added a regional director to our team. Anirudh Balakrishnan, or as we fondly call him ‘Bala’ will join the team and will be responsible for realizing the growth ambitions of the foundation in India.
Bala is an entrepreneur and a professional from New Delhi, India. He was previously the events and partnerships head for NASSCOM 10,000 startups, one of the largest startup programs in the world. During his time in NASSCOM Bala was the guy that made the first edition of Get in the Ring in India a great success. He has extensive experience in startup ecosystem enablement, policy advocacy and program management.
Why India? Because it’s the 4th largest base for startups in the world when it comes to tech innovation. We’ve already had a lot of great events, together with our national sponsor Nasscom 10,000 Startups and we’ve been on National TV (Have you seen it? Check here)!
So you can imagine that we’re excited about this step and so is Bala:
“Super Excited to lead Get in the Ring’s efforts in the fastest growing startup ecosystems in the world. Founders in the Indian subcontinent are born into a state of constant competition. Through global networks like Get in the Ring they will get a soap box to stand atop of and show themselves to the world. Exposure also enables them to refine their service/product offering and be more intelligent in their approach to business. India has seen a tectonic shift in work attitude and culture, and is set to stake its claim in the world. We’re young and hungry. Careful before you step into the ring with us!”
