It’s only been 6 weeks after the Global Conference in Singapore, but we are doing it again. Startups from 24 countries will come to one of the smartest regions in the world: the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. During 3 days, 5 corporates will talk business with 70+ selected startups.
The first few challenges in collaboration with HighTechXL have led to 19 pilot projects with corporates from the Eindhoven Startup Alliance. Now we decided that it was time to scale up. That’s why we launched 4 new challenges at the same time, with ASML, Philips, NTS Group, ABN AMRO Bank and EY. We’re challenging startups on topics ranging from blockchain and KYC to devices on fertility and high precision engineering.

Startups will spend 3 days talking business with +100 experts and mentors. When they have a proven and ready-to-scale solution they might start a pilot with the corporate. Other startups find leads to solve technical challenges or take the opportunity to join the corporate-guided HighTechXL accelerator program with both pilot and funding opportunities.
Kevin Harris, CureMetrix – pilot winner Philips Challenge 2016:
“To sit down for whole day, meeting people face to face, the opportunity to build a relationship.. You might imagine that I pitch this company all the time. And most people I pitch it to don’t really understand what we are doing. So I spend lot of time explaining basic terminology, explaining basic products and so on. It’s so powerful to sit around the table with whom I could directly start discussing my business model, go to market strategy and how we could collaborate – really powerful.”
Brainport Eindhoven was in 2011 the smartest region of the world and has recently been chosen by the British Financial Times that it is the best region to invest in after London and Helsinki. The High Tech Campus gathers more than 150 companies and institutes, and some 10,000 researchers, developers and entrepreneurs working on developing future technologies and products. Campus companies (a.o. Philips, NXP, IBM, Intel) strategically decide what knowledge, skills and R&D facilities they share in order to achieve faster, better and more customer-oriented innovation in the application fields Health, Energy and Smart Environments.
We will not only meet new startups during the Impact Summit, but also connect with some well-known faces, like our Global Heavyweight winner Lifesense Group and runner-up Manus VR. Both participated in the HighTechXL accelerator program and worked together with our corporate partners and will give a keynote to share their experience.
Who will follow the footsteps of Curemetrix, CaiLabs and all the other startups that started working with these tech giants? How many pilot contracts will be offered this time? We will find out during the Impact Summit next week! 9th to 11th of July, High Tech Campus Eindhoven.
