Get in the Ring Israel was held on 17th of November hosted by MIT-Enterprise Forum. The location was a century old rustic winery of Rishon LeZoin, one of the biggest and most important cities in Israel. The competition was a celebration of entrepreneurship with over 70 startup applications, 26 key figures who participated as judges from the high-tech industry and over 170 visitors. The event generates national press coverage because it’s made a real impact in the entrepreneurial community in Israel.

To promote the student-startup community the national host of Israel also created a local Featherweight category  where 2 startups got a chance to pitch in front of the audience. The winner of this battle was Sensoritya company that focuses on diagnosing heart problems by analyzing people’s facial characteristics.

After the Featherweight battles another 6 startups were selected to pitch in the Ring to win a spot in the Regional Final of Get in the Ring in Greece. There could only be three winners and the audience was really enthusiastic when they saw the heated one-on-one battles.

The lightweight winner is SpeakEZ, an app with an online worldwide network that will help you eliminate your language barriers. The middleweight winner Aquanos has developed a unique wastewater treatment technology and process, which produces high quality of effluent while utilizing a fraction of the energy required by conventional wastewater treatment plants. Firelayers can call themselves heavyweight winner, this company offers the industry’s first policy-based platform for controlling, protecting, and analyzing cloud applications and data.
