The Get in the Ring Regionals kicked off: ALBE Bulgaria hosted on the 14th of January in Get in the Ring Eastern Europe. The winning startups of Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania and Serbia Montenegro travelled to the capital of Bulgaria to compete for the Eastern European title and a spot in the International Final in Medellín, Colombia.
With 350 people it was packed with investors, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and fans. Special seats were reserved for our champion jury members: Evgeni Angelov, Todor Breshkov, Ivaylo Simov, and Luybomir Minchev. They had the though job to decide who will win the Eastern European title.
Before the startups entered the Ring for the battles Jochem Cuppen, the Global Director of Get in the Ring prepared the 10 startups. First the startups Fueloyal, RF Anatomy, ClaimCompass and Skeptic Dog competed against each other for the lightweight title of Eastern Europe. The Bulgarian startup ClaimCompass, who helps you receive compensation when your flight is denied, delayed or cancelled, was crowned as Eastern European lightweight winner.
For the middleweight title the startups Bueno, Practify, Energy Squared, Energy Solaris, Symme3D and Vismedic went head-to-head against each other in the Ring. The crowd got really excited when they saw the startups pitching in the Ring. But in the end there only could be one winner: the high resolution 3D printing startup – Symme3D from Romania!
