The Hague, July 25. With their sustainability program “Grow Greener Together,” Nobian is working towards becoming one of Europe’s most sustainable businesses, having already reduced its carbon footprint by 40% since 1990. To achieve this goal, Nobian is partnering with Dutch VC and Open Innovation firm Unknown Group and is looking to collaborate with highly innovative startups with impactful solutions to Grow Greener Together and bring these impact solutions to scale.
Nobian is the leading producer of salt, essential chemicals, and energy solutions for industry. In 2021, Nouryon (formerly AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals) finalized the switch of its base chemicals business, Nobian, into a separate company. As their ambition is towards becoming one of Europe’s most sustainable businesses, they developed a comprehensive sustainability program, Grow Greener Together, which was officially launched in March 2022.
The Grow Greener Together Innovation Challenge is an open call for startups and scale-ups worldwide that have the solutions to program challenges to step up, share their proposal, and discover how collaboration with Nobian can accelerate their impact and bring their solution to scale. This challenge is part of Nobian’s Grow Greener Together sustainability program and addresses the four following themes; Local Energy Storage Flexibility, Balancing Energy Volatility, CO2-Free Heat & Steam, and Improved Heat Integration.
Participants will get a chance to:
- Access to Nobian’s global network, experts, and businesses
- Potential to co-develop innovative solutions and collaborate with relevant Nobian businesses on proof of concept projects
- Participation in a 2.5-day event with Nobian in The Netherlands with pitching, workshops, meetings, and site visits.
