As the Global Conference in Singapore is approaching (less than 50 days!) we’ve decided it’s time to unveil the first Champion jury member! The role of the Champion jury member is to have the last word on deciding the global winners. We’ve been looking out and about to find the perfect combination of startup expertise, passion for investments and adventurous spirit, and able to add value for the startups on stage – and we’ve succeeded!
We are excited to announce the first Champion jury member – James Tan from Quest Ventures!
WHO IS JAMES TAN?
James Tan is currently managing partner of Quest Ventures. Before becoming the face of the venture fund, he was co-founder and COO of 55tuan, one of China’s largest e-commerce companies with an annual transaction volume near $1 billion. James is the ultimate guy to give feedback from an expert point of view, who understands their struggle. Startups who truly impress James can become a part of the wide network of Quest Ventures!
Frankly, James is a rock-star within the entrepreneurship community and he often speaks at events such as GEW, ITB Berlin, TechinAsia, TDS Asia and Web In Travel. To give back to the community he also spends some of his time as a mentor at Chinaccelerator, Founder Institute, IBM SmartCamp and SPH Plug and Play. But don’t think he has only the talent for investments! In his free time, he is a keen photographer and shoots professionally. He even backpacks around Asia and volunteers in marine conservation as a PADI scuba-diving and DAN dive-safety instructor!
