The first members of the Get in the Ring team have arrived in Singapore for the final preparations for the Global Conference. In only a few days we will kick-off and we are excited to meet all the great startups, mentors and partners involved. While we are getting ready we would like to give you a final overview of the cool things that will be happening this week.
150+ startups
Get in the Ring is all about the startups…and my god a lot of innovative startups will fly to Singapore. Next week there will be more than 150 startups chosen via our selection events and challenges will be joining us from all around the world. We are getting ready to meet startups in IoT, blockchain, VR, Biotech, and AI to name a few. These startups range from early-stage pre-revenue companies to well-funded startups with decent turnover.
Leading investors and corporates
As Get in the Ring we want to provide startups easier market access and contact with investors. During the conference we have involved a great mix of investors and corporates that are ready to work with the most promising startups from around the globe. During the matchup program, for example, we have involved over 30 partners such as DHL, L’Oreal, Daimler Mercedes, Quest Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures and many more.
Intense selection pitches
During this week we will also be crowning our new global champions in the light-, middle-, and heavyweight categories. To be able to do so we have involved prestigious jury members who will have an important vote in selecting the best startups. More than 30 jury members will gather at the VISA Innovation Center where startups will all have a chance to present themselves during 1-1 sessions. After the selection rounds we will select 2 startups per weightclass category that will present during the live battles at the Awardshow. The 6 selected startups will be announced at the Announcement drinks at LOOF.
Innovation tours and TechinAsia visit
During the second day of the conference all startups will have to do their selection pitches but there is more! For our delegates we have organized an innovation tour that will visit the Innovation Centre of DHL, JTC Launchpad and the VISA Innovation Center. This tour will give a more comprehensive overview of what is happening in Singapore on innovation and startups. For the startups we have setup a collaboration with one of the best tech events in Asia: TechinAsia. Startups will have a chance to visit the event and connect with the local community.
Social dinners and drinks
Fun, fun, fun, fun.. It is such an important element for making valuable connections. Therefore it is also a very important element of the Global Conference. We have organized a Founders dinner together with VenturesOne at Timbre+ and the announcement drinks at LOOF together with the Dutch Embassy. We will finish in style as we conclude the weeks activities with an unforgettable after party at Millians directly after the announcement of the final winners.
Unique Award Show
A live battle between 2 startups in a ring. Rounds of 30 seconds each. Champion jury members. This is what made us famous. This year we are getting ready for an incredible ‘fight’ that will lead to the final winners. The Award Show will host over 600 visitors in the Millian Club that will be transformed to a battle arena.
