Moving forward in the Impact Competition, powered by ImpactCity and Unknown Group, the next stop is Get in the Ring Geneva – Impact. Last year, we’ve witnessed intensive pitch battles starring the most promising Dutch, German, and Portuguese impact startups and now it is time for the leading Swiss startups to grab the global spotlight, showcase their innovations, and boost disruptive impact solutions.

During the final global broadcast, a strongly disputed pitch battle showdown between SmartHelio who resurrect solar panels through deep tech — and Alver  a vegan superfood solution concluded with SmartHelio being crowned as the winning Swiss impact startup. Furthermore, iCEEP emerged as the most popular Swiss impact startup, winning the public voting campaign. What’s next? The two impact makers advance to the Impact Finals, where they will compete against the best European impact ventures for a 500K convertible loan

SmartHelio is a decision-making tool for solar asset management. The startup is bringing back to life solar panels through a patent pending hardware and deep diagnostic technology. Their solution supports the renewal of solar panels, which can then be reused. Their impact is generating an increased amount of clean energy, and is preventing e-waste, through an easy and affordable solution.

iCEEP, the public’s favourite Swiss solution, is a circular economy, retail-tech startup that connects consumers to their favourite brands and rewards them for giving their used items a second life. They make an impact through takeback schemes, crucial to a circular economy. By digitalizing the process, they are able to collect data, translate it into valuable consumer insights, and make the overall service more accessible and intuitive for people which then enhances their impact.

None of this would have been possible without the energetic participation of our champion jury members. For their connections, inputs and offers to the ventures, we’d like to thank: Gerardo Mazzeo (Global Innovation Director Nestlé), René Cotting (Head of Operations, Innovation and R&D ABB Group & Chairman Technology Ventures ABB), and Monique Morrow (Senior Distinguished Architect Emerging Technologies Syniverse).
